Gr 3-5-Keith Emerson is being blamed for passing some pretty raunchy gas in his classroom. To make matters worse, he's been given a new nickname, "S.B.D." (Silent But Deadly), by the student body. This moniker inspires Keith to come up with a pretty unique science fair project that will, hopefully, find a cure for the foul smell of the common fart, something American Statesman Benjamin Franklin attempted over 200 years earlier. Narrator Nick Podehl does a superb job of bringing this production to life, creating unique and entertaining voices. This humorous, albeit somewhat crude story, will appeal to reluctant readers and fans of the popular Captain Underpants series who are looking for something both silly and fun.-Amy Joslyn, Fairport Public Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010.
