About the Author

Mark Reinfeld is author of Vegan World Fusion Cuisine, which has won nine international awards, including a Gourmand Award for "Best Vegetarian Cookbook in the USA." Mark has a Masters Degree in Holistic Nutrition from the Clayton College of Natural Health. A good cook book with some general information. Has lots of categories and sticks to the 30min boundary, with most ingredients readily available in NZ, and substitutes stated. For a vegan cookbook, there are only a few americanisms (which is unusual). Doesn't have the amount of main dishes I had hoped for, but the amount of other recipes and their scope is good. Concentrates on wholefoods, but doesn't sacrifice taste (as old wholefood cookbooks used to). One of the writers is a raw foodist also, and some of the recipes (handily indicated by hearts) are raw, but still look quite yum. Some colour photo plates, but to only about 10% of recipes. Recommended.

A good cook book with easy recipes, imaginative ingredient combinations and a large variety of easily sourced ingredients, without the necessary American wierd products that are unavailable but seem so common in vegan cook books. The necessary ingredients, for example mayonnaise in some recipes, are found on different pages, which makes for good cooking and also an easy base for essential yummies.
There are colour plates in this edition (the first), which well photographed, but only about 30 recipes have photographs. The paper is not brilliant, but, hey it is a cook book.
Recommended for fast, easy and delicious, also a bit different. Something for everyone.
