I love this book. The author and his ideas reach deep into the core of what every relationship/couple needs to grow and keep on thriving. You don't need prior reading about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (as per the bestseller The Happiness Trap), it all makes a lot of sense and is relevant to any and every relationship in our lives. It offers some great techniques for reconciling and reconnecting. If you value your relationship, this is definitely worth reading. Much more relevant today than many of the bestselling relationship books of the past.
I have recommended this book to several of my clients. I and they have found it to be quite helpful. The author provides additional worksheets online that are worthwhile "homework" or in-session assignments. Dr. Harris does an excellent job of applying the ACT model to couples therapy in a way that is understandable and with experiential exercises that help treatment to generalize to real-life settings.
