About the Author

Firoze Manji, a Kenyan, is founder and executive director of Fahamu and editor of Pambazuka News. He has formerly worked as programme director for the International Secretariat of Amnesty International, CEO for the Aga Khan Foundation UK, and regional representative for health for IDRC's office for Eastern and Southern Africa. Korir Sing'Oei Abraham is the co-founder and director of the Centre for Minority Rights Development, based in Kenya and Zimbabwe. He is an international human rights lawyer and a Hubert Humphrey scholar at the University of Minnesota. Roselynn Musa is advocacy programme officer with the African Women's Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) in Kenya and has been involved with the Solidarity on African Women���s Rights coalition.
