This is a great book if you have a small lathe or are contemplating buying one. Full of invaluable information that has been learned over a career of professional engineering but presented in a way that is fully understandable and useful to the amateur. If you only buy one lathe book this should probably be it. Highly recommended.

The Amateur's Lathe is good reference material for both the beginner and the experienced lathe operator in a home workshop. It is full of tips useful for the amateur to maximise flexibility of the lathe when resources are limited. Although the book was written several decades ago, the tips and information therein, is as relevant today as earlier. I found it at a worthwhile buy.

An extremely informative read. Well worth the price. I believe it will be an invaluable reference book for even the more experienced machinists and budding engineers. The clear and concise dialogue makes for an enjoyable read.
