This three CD set is a companion to the British Poets compilation. Twenty-eight poets are included, from Gertrude Stein, born in 1874, to Amiri Baraka, born in 1934. The 20th century was a time of enormous energy and variety in American poetry, embracing such illustrious names as T S Eliot, e e cummings, William Carlos Williams, Ezra Pound, Robinson Jeffers, Langston Hughes, Anne Sexton and Sylvia Plath. Each of the poets is heard reading from their own work. The recordings are mostly taken from previously unpublished BBC broadcasts.

For lovers of fine art. Who does not love poetry. This is a wonderful and soothing read. It inspires me and captiates me. It makes me want to explore my artistic and creative side. It is nurturing. I one hundred percent enjoyed this book and would guarantee that if you have a passion for poetry, you too will appreciate and enjoy every word put on paper. I know this is a keeper and definitely worth the pennies.
