Peter Singer writes really well and his cases for better animal rights are excellent. His idea of "speciesism" is totally correct and applies to us all - we don't have to be like that though! I find books like this quite depressing, and it's sad how many people don't act on them, but it's still a good thing to read. I like his arguments and they are very hard to disagree with. I am a vegetarian, not because of this book but Peter Singer confirmed my decision to be vegetarian.
