Using the very latest archaeological evidence from stones and bones and also Aboriginal oral traditions, this volume examines the way in which the Aborigines adapted to and modified their environment, how their art and culture developed and were passed on, and how they coped with changes such as the rising seas after the last ice age.

This book is for all those who want to understand the Paleolithic and Anthropological history of the Native Australian people right from the "Dream Time" and the entry into Australia from the Indonesian/New Guinean lands when the world sea levels were lower. Josephine Flood is a great writer and explains the geology of the Australian Landscape. This book is a must read for every Australian and especially for all those immigrants to Australia who want to understand the history of the land down under that they now call "Home".
