Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is the best chronicle of drug-soaked, addle-brained, rollicking good times ever committed to the printed page. It is also the tale of a long weekend road trip that has gone down in the annals of American pop culture as one of the strangest journeys ever undertaken. Now this cult classic of gonzo journalism is a major motion picture from Universal, directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro. Opens everywhere on May 22, 1998.

Brace yourself for one of the strangest "trips" you'll ever take in your life. Sharp, Witty and highly insightful and enjoyable while cruising 18000ft high.
on a side note, i usually say never judge a book by it's movie, this one throws that right out. Go watch the movie as well.
Fear and Loathing may just be a secret fantasy for the masses. A case of money, and a car load of assorted mind altering drugs, and a mentality set for the chaos of the American Dream, VIVA LAS VEGAS STYLE. The possible outcomes of the journey are infinite. Fans of Tom Wolfe will enjoy this!
I see the clown below me reveiwed the movie... but their reveiw is linked to the paperback. What's up with that? Anyway, the novel uses the movie to wipe it's proverbial if you know what I mean. Like a decathalon for druggies, this is one way out endurance test. If you would have enjoyed researching this book, you better read it.
What do you do if you take too many drugs? Well, the answer in "Fear and Loathing..." is to take a few more just to take the edge off the first dose. Johnny Depp is brilliant in this drugged-out desert trip. The things these guys get up to while on drugs are quite disturbing - the way this movie is filmed just adds to the craziness. It drags a little towards the end and things get a little too weird but this is a satisfying film that will have you trying hard to believe that two people could get up to such destructive behaviour without ending up dead in a ditch. Nothing good comes out of all of their drug taking, giving this film an almost anti-drug tone. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the trip.
