my dad always told me the story of how he tried to read my brothers and I this story when we were little kids and he would never be able to finish it because he always ended up laughing so hard that he had tears rolling down his cheeks. I had been trying to find him a copy for years and was so pleased to see it on the Fishpond website. I gave it to my dad for his 70th birthday and just seeing the cover brought tears to his eyes. Having now read it myself as an adult I can see the problem he faced all those years ago. What a delightfully silly story for kids and grown ups alike. Spike Milligan has a truly unique sense of humour!

this was a fantastic childrens story to read, and i am actually amazed at how much i enjoyed it, as i am most definitely past the child age. it was really fun to read, and i think it would be an amazing story to read to your young-ins. any child who recived this as a pressie would be eternally greatfull!!

A fantastic book that will be enjoyed by children of all ages, especially adults with a little naughty child still inside. We also have this on tape read by Spike Milligan which is fantastic if you can get hold of it. All Roald Dahl's books are great and this is one of the best. Highly recommended - and waiting for it to be made into a movie!
