What's next for the conservative side of politics? Where are new battlelines to be drawn? Senior Liberal Party figure and parliamentary pugilist Tony Abbott offers a frank analysis of the way forward for the Liberal Party. Here he draws lessons from the dying days of the Howard Government, and gives his views on his contemporaries, including Kevin Rudd, Peter Costello, Julia Gillard and Malcolm Turnbull. In 'Battlelines', Abbott looks at the values and instincts that drive the Liberal Party and proposes policy that the party should adopt.

i read this book with some trepidation and fear, thankfully by the time i had finsihed it the federal election had been done and dusted and thankfully mr abbott was not elected prime minister. The book did have some strangely intriguing references to his friendship with mr costello, i am sensing some hidden emotions here? will he return for the next election we wonder? i am not certain that a ghost writer did not actually contribute much of this book, some of the tenses are odd. Plus it is not entirely certain whether mr abbott is trying to encourage readers to like him or distrust him. One for the second hand garage sale perhaps.
