Bestselling author, Cesar Millan, takes his principles of dog psychology a step further, showing you how to develop the calm-assertive energy of a successful pack leader and use it to improve your dog's life - and your own. Filled with practical tips and techniques as well as success stories from his fans, clients (including the Grogan family), and his popular television show Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, Cesar helps you understand and read your dog's energy as well as your own so that you can move beyond just correcting behavioural issues and take your connection with your dog to the next level. The principles of calm-assertive energy will help you become a better pack leader in every area of your life, improving your relationships with friends, family and co-workers. In addition, Cesar addresses several important issues for the first time, including what you need to know about the major dog behaviour tools available and the difference between 'personality' and 'instability'. What emerges from BE THE PACK LEADER are both happier dogs and happier, more centred owners.

Excellent book, interesting and easy to read. Great to be able to understand the world from a dogs perspective. Watch next time you're at a dog park and you will be able to spot the balanced dogs, doing natural dog behaviour and you'll see Ceasar is correct. And to whoever said Ceasar teaches dogs learned helplessness, you might want to actually read about and gain a real understanding of what learned helplessness actually is before using the term incorrectly in a review.
Simple and logical approaches that are gentle and work for anyone! I particularly like how much of it applies to not only our dog but to our human interactions too! Excellent, effective and useful. Leona
Not all the way through it but really learning alot from it. Its easy to read and he shares alot of stories on past experiences training dogs and helping owners. Its made me want to watch the DVD's of his show.
this is a great book, and it really works, we have certainly noticed positive improvments in our five year old cairn terrier and its also made us aware that despite good intentions our training methods were more to suit us (humans) rather than working on understanding dogs, once we trained ourselves the dog just followed suit! we are awaiting the arrival of a new addition (german shepherd pup) and are very pleased that we have this new knowlegde for a sucessful upbringing of our pup. we have also recommended this book to many of our friends with problems, cant recommend this book high enough!regards lisa
