I found this very readable, giving an insight into the way of life of the Exclusive Brethren church. For me, it posed as many questions as it answered, i.e. is this book a true indication of the church as it is today?

This was an amazing true life story, I found it highly emotional at times. While the information is slightly out of date it gave me a greater understanding of the Exclusives I went to school with in the 1990s.

This is a chilling account of the realities of hard christian fundamentalism, legalism and pharisaism in New Zealand. Ngaire Thomas, through it all, is astonishingly tolerant of the male bigots who tried to run her life.
