One of the most successful groups in music history, the Backstreet Boys have sold 65 million albums to date, and AJ McLean, the tattooed bad boy of the group, has fans throughout the world. An integral part of the Backstreet Boys from the very beginning, AJ's mother, Denise, traveled with the group and served as their publicist and fan club coordinator. In close proximity to the successes and heartbreaks of her son's career, Denise watched her son's painful descent into alcoholism and depression. This revealing account tells the tale of AJ's rise to superstardom, his descent into addiction, and his struggles through rehab, and offers a look at the harsh world of the music industry. A candid and heartfelt story, this book will appeal to fans of the Backstreet Boys, readers interested in behind-the-scenes music industry stories, and mothers with children who have substance abuse problems.

I have actually wanted to read this book for a while since I first heard about it being released, It actually was a really great read I have had friend and Family who have been in the position that Denise was and it really helped to see through someone else’s eyes, I am a fan of the backstreet boys and it did explain there early years which was also fun to learn and learning about AJ past was also insightful, It was a great book to read and I recommend all Backstreet Boys fan or AJ fans must read this book!
After seeing both concerts when they came to Sydney I really wanted to read this book... It's a great book a must for all those who are either raised by a single parent or know of someone with a addiction, Its a great book really inspiring, gives a lot of background information into AJ life and explained a lot, It explains the hard work and determination they had to endure to be who they are today and show that they really are just human
I love the Backstreet Boys and plently of women will agree with me. They are the ultimate boy band.
I was heartbroken when they split in early 2003 but we're glad they're back.
This book entales AJ's painful descent into alcoholism and depression as told by his mother, who was by his side through out the whole ordeal. Insightful, real and emotional.
A must for AJ fans. A great read for the many Backstreet fans.
