– Customer review on 02/12/2008 This is an amazing book - I can't say enough about it.
It's written in a raw and honest manner, with Clapton exposing his flaws and follies, taking us from his childhood being raised by his Grandparents, through his entire career to date.
The love affairs, the rock'n'roll lifestyle, the drugs, the big music industry players, money, drama - this book has it all.
And as with most music biographies, it's always great to learn of the stories behind the songs.
It makes for a fascinating read, but the underlying theme of this book seems to be more about the nature of the human spirit.
Struggle for strength, survival and triumph through great success and devastating tragedies.
Upon completion of this book I marveled for a while that Clapton has even survived his life.
I didn't want this book to end, I laughed, I cried, and I'll definitely read it over and over again.
One of the best biographies I've ever read, written by a truly fascinating man.
No matter how much you think you know about Eric Clapton, or how much you might love the music, you'll put this book down with a new found admiration and fondness for him.
