– Customer review on 29/01/2008 This is an excellent book that Yancey has written for two main reasons. Firstly, he tells his own story of searching for a real faith and how he came across the various people and their work that he discusses in the book. But secondly, even better than this, is the fact that in this book you are introduced to the work of the people he discusses. Some are well known (Henri Nouwen, Dostoevsky, Gandhi) while others might be new to you (Shusako Endo for instance - but he is well worth discovering). At the very least this book will send you out with a list of brilliant authors to discover, if you haven't already.
