World-class hero Lance Armstrong tells his inspiring story, from the dark night of advanced testicular cancer through his dramatic victory in the 1999 Tour de France. This trade paperback edition features new material on Tour de France 2000 and the 2001 Olympics.
From The Publisher:
This is the story of the Sports Illustrated's 2002 Sportsman of the Year's journey through triumph, tragedy, transformation, and transcendance. It is the story of Lance Armstrong, the world-famous cyclist, and his fight against cancer. People magazine called it "inspiring." The New York Times called it "fascinating." But perhaps the Cincinnati Enquirer said it best: "It's not about the bike, or about the sport. It's about the soul."

One of the most inspiring stories you will read. This book is very honestly written and gives a heart-warming recount of a man who battled against the odds and won!
Oh, how inspiring! I was prepared to not like Lance. I was sure that he would come across way too "preachy". Was I mistaken! A great read for anyone wanting to pursue a dream or goal or needing to heal themselves. I could not put the book down and have reread it twice! Each time I learned something new and was inspired, enthused, and empowered again. Great stuff!
I have my reservations about Mr Armstrong and his approach to cycling, but this book documents the time when Lance Armstrong was at his greatest. Whilst overcoming cancer can be viewed either as an element of luck or good medicine, this book is about his recovery and the people who helped him get back to great. It is an inspiring read.
I am not a cycling fan, but you don't have to be to really enjoy this book, detailing Armstrong's life and his experience with cancer (after all, it's not about the bike!). His story is definately one of triumph over tragedy, but it is told in a real and (at times) self-depricating way. This autobiography will appeal to sport fans and couch potatos aike. A great book to read when you feel like life is getting the better of you.
A fantastic book starting from his youth and his first introduction to bicycles ande endurance sports to his first Tour victory. Includes his very well described voyage through cancer and treatment, written in an informative manner that does not indicate any self-pity. He is a true survivor and champion. Recommended read!
This book is a must read for all sports enthusiasts and everyone else. The prelude to Every Second Counts. This book tells of lance Armstrongs trip from getting his first road bikes and competing in duathlons, to overcoming cancer and become arguablethe greatest road cyclist every, by winning the Tour De France, and carrying on to do it 7 times in total.
a great book that tells extremely well what life was like behind the bike for lance as he struggled through his battle with cancer, to recover and become arguably the most successful sportsman of cycling.
