It is usually not well known that Friedrich Nietzsche was trained as a philologist. In this work he discusses the dramatic theory and analyzes with much praise, the Greek tragedies and their transcendent meaning. He observes that
The Hellistic tragedy was the best form of art as it fused both “Apollonian and Dionysian” elements into one whole, which showed the full spectrum of human problems.
Very interesting and thoughtful work by the master philosopher. A good edition with cheap price, highly recommended. Enjoy Nietzsche!
