sorry to say i was very disappointed with this. it seemed as though the author had an idea but didn't have the time/inclination to develop the story...

James Patterson is always an enjoyable read. I didn't enjoy this quick read quite as much as some of his other books mainly because I was expecting his usual quirky twist at the end and it didn't live up to my expectations.

I love James Patterson! And this quick murder mystery is no exception. Well written even though it's short it kept your attention right from the start. A great who dun-it with a sweet twist to it as well.
Bloody valentine's plot follows Inspector Amy Stuart, who has been assigned a particularly gruesome case, where the heart supposedly (we know it is as we read her murder at the start, which is the only slightly entertaining part of the book) belonging to Zee Barnes, the young pregnant wife of high profile and extremely wealthy restaurant owner Jack Barnes. It has been express delivered to his office.

I just finished this one and honestly it's a really well written short story. The murder is typical James Patterson gruesome style but once you pass that scene then it's a matter of trying to work out who the killer actually is. I thought I had the killer worked out half way through but the ending really surprised me when the real killer was revealed.
