This autobiography is a well written, easy to read, insight into the problems faced by handicapped people who crave the independence and autonomy that able bodied people enjoy.
"A Boot Full of Piss, the story of Robbie O'Brien, allows us to experience the author's intimate personal feelings with all the highs and lows that unfold during one's life journey. We learn how the attitudes and management of handicapped people has radically changed over the years and how Robbie inadvertently became the catalyst for some of those changes.
The language is simple but the phrasing is elegant. This would be an excellent book for secondary students to learn about the difficulties faced by the handicapped. The book would also be an excellent focus for church study groups keen to deepen their understanding of such issues.
A very satisfying read.
