This is by far the best Marian Keyes book I have read. Funny, honest and has not only a happy ending, but twists to it that you don't expect to come along. I've read some of Marian's first novels and wasn't overly fussed with them - I found them a bit too chicklet for my likings. But this one along with This Charming Man I absolutely loved. I highly recommend this to any Marian fan and any person that liked her but didn't love her - I'm sure this book will change your mind.

A nice enough read and loved the supernatural theme but didn't connect with the characters as much as i normally do in her books, hence didn't really care what happened to them. i skimmed the ending but haven't properly read the last 100 pages cos couldn't be bothered (rare for me with a marian book, which i not only read every line but reread as much as possible). also not as many lol moments. didn't like the handling of david either, sure he was bad but what a way to go. no sadness from anyone, not even a little.

Marian just keeps getting better and better. Her novels cannot essentially be labelled as 'Chick Lit'. The themes discussed makes Marian courageous and an important novelist to be reckoned with. Over the years, Marian has experimented with a wide variety of issues that affects the majority of readers. This novel, especially, does not alienate readers from the social realities that exists for many of us.

Worst Marian keyes book I ever read. Not the usual light-hearted, funny heroine. Prefers the previous books that she wrote. Halfway thru the book but still feels that I'm waiting for something to happen. Read a few pages of the epilogue and it seems a letdown. Hopefully, this will be the last time that she writes in this style cos I love her usual style of writing and I've read all her books.

I really didnt get into this Marion Keyes book - I too, amongst many other reviewee's, found the countdown of the chapters and the characters too hard to place in my mind - to be honest I never finished it - got half way and realised I wasnt even into it, so had to give it back to my sister who has a bit of a library! The characters were well described and you certainly want to try and get into it, but it is just so damn confusing. But perhaps there are people who like this sort of unexpainable mystery....

Not as good as Marian other novels.
Enjoyable to read but a bit confusing with the countdown style of chapters - are we historical to the future or vice versa
