Dita Von Teese is challenging the face of what is seen as sexy in an age where platinum blonde and fake tan is the epitome of what's hot. Boring right? Dita brings the sexy style of yesteryear's pin-ups back with this stunning and beautifully produced book, showing her excellent taste in her homage to classic strip tease and her fetish photos. She explores the entire range of burlesque from the 1800's through the 1950's with great attention to the details which make the looks authentic while she re-invents glamour. It takes a remarkable model and some great stylists to hold your attention through a one-woman "show" like this, but she does it, and looks great throughout, over the course of an unbelieveable variety of settings, wardrobe, lack of wardrobe, styles and situations. Nothing lewd at all, in fact there is no nudity in this book. It's the "teese" that keeps you interested.

This book is fabulous just like the author herself. One half transports you into a world of glamour and pretty things whilst the other takes you to an interesting and tasteful explanation of fetish art. This book is a must for anyone who is a fan of Dita and burlesque. Once receiving the book I ended up rationing myself to three of four pages a day as I didn't want to have to leave Dita's world anytime soon.
This book is a one woman show but its interesting, paired with lots of text about Dita's art and her history as well as many photos from scandalous Betty Paige looks to cheesecake pinups. This book is a masterpiece.

I bought this for my partner and she loved it! A great inside to "Dita's" work, a must for any fan of her or burlesque! many great costumes and outfits. I searched everywhere for this gift, but found that Fishponds price and availability was the best. I my self even enjoyed the read! Thanks Fishpond!

I bought it for my husband as he is a fan of Dita, he is really pleased with
the book, it is a great account of her thoughts and life, half the book is
on the burleque with pictures and then you turn it upside down and there is the fetish part with pictures all intermixed with her stories and childhood memories etc, it is very tasteful and well done.
I went straight on to Fishpond and ordered it, whereas he had been trying various bookshops with no luck. Thanks Fishpond.
