I would certainly recommend this book to anyone considering making a canoe. It's easy to follow instructions, helpful photos, and step-by-step guide provide all the information needed to be paddling your own hand built canoe in no time. I do have woodworking experience, this was helpful to me, but those with no experience shouldn't be put off. It's also nice having something a little different on the water, other than the usual polymer or fiberglass canoe. Follow the instructions with care and take your time. I also recommend doing your research regarding the plywood, epoxy, etc., get the best you can find. After all, you don't want to spend hours building only to have it fail. I now have made 2 canoes, one for myself and one for a friend. They travel straight and true, and are very stable, even with 2 people and a load. Certainly worth a look.
