A classic that your kids will love. My kids can't decide whether to side with the tired peddlar or the cheeky monkeys when we read this. The illustrations are simple and the text is easy to read. The kids love that the peddlar finally tricks the monkeys into giving him his hats back.

This is a great book - a funny and unusual tale with really cool illustrations. I remember this book vividly from my childhood and my kids now have it as a favourite.

Love it! I remember having this story read to me when i was a little girl. Children love the ability to predict what comes next with the repetition in the story! Im sure that we will read it over and over again and has led to various craft and literacy experiences in the classroom.

We have read this book for many years at my preschool. The children love it because it is repetitive and easy to follow. We have actually acted it out as our end of year concert item, with all children from many cultures able to have a part of a cheeky monkey.
I highly recommend it.
