An account of the author's experiences as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam war, "Chickenhawk" is a gritty, realistic story of what the Vietnam War was like through the eyes of a pilot.

The book balances the technical details with narative excellently, making it ideal for a wide reading audience. Anyone can enjoy this book, even with no prior knowledge of flying helicopters. It is a well written, at times, humorous, and real book.

This book was a great read and difficult to put down. It put you in the seat of the best helicopter in the the Vietnam War.

An excellent read for those who like to read of the exploits of the guys and gals in Vietnam during that time. You get a real feeling for the lifestyle that they had to put up with.
