A great book to read to a young child as it is entertaining from an adult perspective as well. Hard to put down and highly engaging, The Indian in the Cupboard explores the common fantasy of having tiny live dolls to play with. However the idea of the small people as playthings is soon overcome as they quickly develop their own characters, histories and feelings. Great for developing an altruistic ideal in small selfish children.

first discovered this book when my 4th grade teacher read this book out and the books following it, it was enthralling, that was how many years ago? approximately 9 years ago!! but i still remeber it quite well, i hope i get this boook again in the near future, definitely an original story line and i wish there were more to it
