definetely not for the squeamish. the terrifying horrors that await lief barda and jasmine as they approach the mysterious city of the rats is one that will cause many a reader's stomach to do flips and somer saults. alas, the path to the salvation of deltora is certainly not an easy one

continuing the legacy of the previous two books, this book is very good, all the bookesi n the series are very consistent and very captivating, and this one is no different, but u must have read the previous two to fully understand it, this one is a bit funnier than the previous two as well

(By my son)I like this book because it has lots twists and turns. It is about the City of the Rats which has a secret about it's past as well as the Noradz, who have a strange fear of furry creatures. It is in the City of the Rats that Lief, Barda & Jasmine must find and recover the opal, which is the third gem needed for the Belt of Deltora. This book was very exciting and and would be great for anyone that likes adventure.

The City Of The Rats is an exciting book, that is a read worth the time and money.
The threesome we all know well by now, Lief, Bardar and the wild girl Jasmine are on a perilous quest to resue Deltora from the salvery of the Shadowlands. They buy three little horse-like beasts from Tom and find themselves in Noradz. They must escape to find the great opal of the Plains folk in the City Of The Rats and defeat a cunning guardian with them all risking more than their lives - the future of Deltora lies in the hands of the three.
