This graphic novel is a must read for lovers of the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. It is based on the events of the first book where the twelve year old Artemis kidnaps the elf Holly Short in exchange for a ransom.

The book is fascinating for its depictions of various characters - Artemis, Butler, Holly, Juliet, Commander Root, Foaly and Mulch Diggums to name a few. While the characters look very "comic book" and may not match your own image of the characters, it is more than made up by illustration of Haven city and the magma flares or "riding the hot shots" ( as Artemis lovers will know).
