As a kindergarten teacher, this book is fantastic. I am able to keep a group of twenty five four and five year olds entertained and hold their attention with this book. The rhyming text is very easy and fun to read and the illustrattions are gorgeous with bright colours and lots of detail. My kindergarten class love calling out what the animal is after they have heard the poem. This book is aslo great to read on a one to one basis where I can encourage children to look closer at the pictures and we can talk about the animals as we go.

This book is great for pre schoolars not only are the pictures engaging for pre-readers but the text is fun and rhythmic and will hold the attention of any child. It can be read as a whole or children can find their favourite animal to read and laugh about their antics. Smaller details like finding and counting the ants and reading the noises the animals make will create extra elements to the book. Highly recommended!
