You have to love this book and you have to be a hard person not to want to cry at the end.
As ever the book is better than the film as it is all in your head. Go buy today
I remember reading this book as a kid, and absolutely loved it. Our 11yr old daughter, who has been a struggling reader, found this book in the library. Its the only book which she has actually read without me having to remind her about reading. I think it is the turning point, for her reading for pleasure.
A wonderful story which I'd encourage to be shared with any many others, as possible.
A very good children's story that use the mechanism of talking animals, as well as arachnids, of course, to discuss friendship, life, and death, and the roles of things in the world.
Perhaps a little sentimental, given the amount of pig saving antics that are found within. People have to eat, after all.
A beatiful story about friendship, and love. I really enjoyed this classic story as a child, and hope to share this with my own son when he is a little older. A great novel for children wanting to mover on from their early readers.
Charlottes Web was one of my favourite books as a child and now I enjoy reading it to my kids. Charlotte an endearing spider tries to save her friend Wilbur from being eaten. I would recommend this book to anyone with kids or who wants a trip down memory lane.
Some Pig! What a heart felt story,I laughted, cried and enjoyed this story very much since I was a child until now as a mother which I hope to share soon with my kids.Wilbur is a very lucky pig to have such loving and caring friends who want to save him from being dinner and what a clever spider Charlotte is with Great ideas to save him.
This book is a classic and a must for all homes. It is a delightful, yet sad tale. I had this book when I was a child and can remember crying my eyes out every time I read it. I have never come across a person that did not enjoy it. The characters are well written and the story flows easily. It is aimed at young adults but I think it has universal appeal.
This book appeals to adults and children alike so is a great choice for reading aloud to the children in your life - you won't have to force yourself! The characters are wonderful and there is a lot of deep 'life lessons' about death and impermanence, but they are presented in a delicate yet wise way so that it doesn't frighten or alarm children. E.B.White was a wonderful man and if you enjoy this book I also reccommend his essays - he had a lot to say about the natural and human worlds! You won't ever forget Wilbur and Charlotte - a true classic!
