The second of C. S. Lewis's novels to be produced in graphic novel style, The Magician's Nephew is actually the first in the Chronicles of Narnia series of seven titles. Polly and Digory meet one day over their garden wall. They decide to explore the attics above their houses one wet summer afternoon, and by mistake come across Digory's mad Uncle Andrew in the middle of an experiment. First Polly, then Digory, touch the magic rings which take them out of our world and into another one, where they encounter the evil Empress Jadis and by mistake bring her back to England. In a desperate attempt to get her away from the havoc she causes in London, the two children magic her and several others into a totally different world -- the world of Narnia.

This book is the first book in the series and it introduces us to the world of Narnia which Aslan has created. We learn how the world came to be, what it took to make and the problems the magical world would face. This book is fill of adventure and action. I would recommend this book for older children to adults.
3 stars.
I couldn’t love a book more then the magicians nephew it answered all my questions of how narnia became what it is. Its so enchanting, and just thinking of this novel brings a smile to my face. This is one not to miss and for 20 bucks its well worth it
Magicians Nephew are a brilliant piece of writing. The book is fantasy at its finest. The storyline is deep and compelling. Reading this book you really get absorbed into the story. C.S Lewis is has an amazing writing style that really hypnotises. I recommed this book for all. Magnificent enjoyment to read. Good for all ages
This is the first book chronologically in the Narnia chronicles & the 6th to be published (Lion, Witch & Wardrobe was the first published)...
This takes us back to the creation of Narnia by Aslan and the origin of evil in that magical land... the song of creation is an incredibly beautiful and memroable passage... a must-read for fans of Lewis and Narnia...
It is quite a big book and every word is worth it! There are seven books in the same cover, it is easy to read and to follow. A book that is filled with magical places and people, lands of imagination and skies of infinity.
A recommendtion to all, don't wait until the movie comes out, I know that it already has for the second book (The Lion the witch and the wardrobe), try to read it thinking that you have never seen the movie, the movie is great but not quite what the book is all about!
It even is a great book to read as a bedtime story to young kids.
It disappoints me a little that very few people realise that this book is in fact the very beginning of the Chronicles of Narnia, the birth of a wonderful fantasy and a long and loving relationship with Aslan (He's not a tame Lion you know)
This is the prequel to The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. It is an allegorical form of the book of genisis,it details the journey of two childdren into a magical world at the very beggining of time, they watch as it is created and see as the first evil comes into that world (Original sin metaphor). They are the reaso evil enters the world as the child cannot resist waking the evil witch. This is an enjoyable book that shoul dbe read as part of the entire series.
From the same author of the lion the witch and the Wardrobe, comes this masterpiece. I really like this, even though it isn't directed at my age group (it's written for kids, but written very well so I enjoyed it alot). A very creative book, the first of the Narnia series. Anybody needs to read this book.
The first book of narnia the creation of the magical land by Aslan, and the unleash of evil apon the new land. Two children must try and put right the bad they have let loose and save narnia but will they be too late and have to let another undo what they did!
