– Customer review on 27/12/2007 Bread and Jam for Frances, along with all the Frances books, is a must own book which will be well read and loved by many generations.
I was first introduced to the Frances books in 1979, aged 6. Nearly 3 decades later, I am still a great fan and was thrilled to get hold of the various books to share with school students and young nephews. It is the one very special book from my childhood which I wanted to pass on.
Frances is a ebullient young badger - and in this particular story, she decides that the only food she will eat is bread and jam. She scoffs at the culinary masterpieces placed before her in favour of bread and jam, but soon learns there is a downside. It is a simple but delightful story, written and illustrated with great affection.
Once you own one Frances book, you will want to own them all.
