Hattie and the Fox has been a recent addition to my son's Mem Fox collection, and it's a hit! Talking animals are always a hoot with kids, but the storyline of Hattie the Hen discovering a fox hiding in the bushes is added excitement for a 3 year old. My son has been heard walking around our house quoting "Oh No said the pig" ! A delighful children's read...

A favourite in this household. It is a great story. My 2 year old loved getting to the bit where the fox is fully revealed. Then we had to read it all over again.

A wonderful read aloud story where participation is everything. I have used this text very successfully with children as an introduction to 'Readers Theatre.' The best part for me is the final page where "nobody said anything for a very long time" Can even be used with older children as a lesson in apathy.

This is another great story from Mem Fox. As always, she has given us a beautifully written story. The illustrations are gorgeous and this book is a favourite on our book shelf and is read in bed with my two sons many nights.

Hattie and the Fox is a fabulous book. I just bought a copy for a child I had never met and it was a hit. The report was that he (4yo) thought the ending was hilarious! Meet Hattie the hen, with her friends the cow, the sheep, the pig and a few more. Is Hattie really seeing something in the bushes?

Fabulously illustrated with tissue paper collage, this is a great book for one to eight year olds!
