What a talented artist. This is a book for kids about rabbits and bandicoots or it is a book about white invasion of black australia. A really good way of introducting topical issues to young children. The pictures are so detailed. Every school and home should have one of these books.

Very cleaver and manipulative picture book. John Marsden has created a whole play on to the white invasion using rabbits and bandicoots. Young readers will like the art work very much even if they dont understand the story. Its very good and could be a great learning tool in classrooms.

A haunting childrens story about the colonisation of Australia by 'the rabbits'. Shaun Tan is amazing, tiny bandicoots no match for the huge cityscapes they are presented with. Though the text ends bleakly, the illustrations offer a glimmer of hope for Australia's (and, by extension I guess our) troubled and complexrace relations.
