I would recommend this book for older children with imagination.
This is a great read.
In this book a boy called David escapes the camp where he has lived all his life. He travells be boat, car but mostly on foot.
He has to face the harsh winters and sleep on the sides of the roads. He gets money by helping tourists.
One day he meets someone who he thinks knew his mother and then the journey becomes all about trying to find his mother.
