In this classic Seussian tale, the good doctor primes his readers against all the little mishaps and misadventures that can befall even the best of us -- from bang-ups and hang-ups to lurches and slumps -- encouraging us to take life in our stride! With his unique combination of hilarious stories, zany pictures and riotous rhymes, Dr. Seuss has been delighting young children and helping them learn to read for over fifty years. Creator of the wonderfully anarchic Cat in the Hat, and ranked among the UK's top ten favourite children's authors, Seuss is firmly established as a global best-seller, with nearly half a billion books sold worldwide. As the first step in a major rebrand programme, HarperCollins is relaunching 17 of Dr. Seuss's best-selling books, including such perennial favourites as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham and Fox in Socks. In response to consumer demand, the bright new cover designs incorporate much needed guidance on reading levels, with the standard paperbacks divided into three reading strands - Blue Back Books for parents to share with young children, Green Back Books for budding readers to tackle on their own, and Yellow Back Books for older, more fluent readers to enjoy. Oh, The Places You'll Go! belongs to the Yellow Back Book range. Reviews Dr. Seuss ignites a child's imagination with his mischievous characters and zany verses. The Express About the Author Theodor Seuss Geisel - better known to millions of his fans as Dr. Seuss - was born the son of a park superintendent in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1904. After studying at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, and later at Oxford University in England, he became a magazine humorist and cartoonist, and an advertising man. He soon turned his many talents to writing children's books, and his first book - And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street - was published in 1937. His greatest claim to fame was the one and only The Cat in the Hat, published in 1957, the first of a successful range of early learning books known as Beginner Books. |

– Customer review on 23/10/2007 I was given this book as a teenager during a time of great angst and although it is not a book written for the adult audience it provided me with great comfort. Dr Seuses magical rhyming and rhythmical abilities brought to light the potential that life held for me. This book reminds us all of the places we 'will' go - reminding us that life is a journey that is very much worth holding onto!

– Customer review on 02/12/2006 Just a fabulous book. A children's book with a beautiful, positive message about the ups and downs of life - told in the way only Dr Seuss can tell it. Before reading it to my child, I had known people to give this book as a gift to teenagers, and I had thought this was very strang. Now I think that is a great idea. Its message, whether to a 3 year old or a 30 year old, is exactly the same. Just great.

– Customer review on 11/04/2006 This Dr Seuss book gave my year 3's the opportunity to ponder some of life's journey. It has a 'philosophy-esque' dimension to it! The students loved the fantasy but also reflecting on their own lives and predicting the places they might go! It was a great way of allowing them to dream and the message is - the sky's the limit!
