As a kindergarten teacher, this is a great book to read to a class of four and five year olds as after reading it a few times, the children can "read" along. This gives them confidence in their own abilities as they think that they can really read. I love the story line of this book and the collage illustrations are beatiful and not the usual drawing you see.

My absolute favourite Mem Fox book of all time! In my days (before kids) as an early childhood teacher, I read this story to the kids every day (5 days a week) for about two months. It is such a fabulous book and the kids kept asking for it over and over again. There were 18month old kids who knew the story well enough to "read" a lot of it to themselves. It is a lovely little rhyming book and a great laugh!

The illustrations are similar to Jeannie Baker, in that they are 3D collages, photographed for the book. The are stunning!

A charming rhyme book that asks the question what would you rather do? In a time where children are being exposed to less and less rhymes, this is a great book to add to your collection. A great starter to a range of interesting questions and conversations. Take the time to enjoy the thoughts of your children as you enjoy another Mem Fox classic.
