My kids were so thoroughly taken by this book that they thought something dreadfully scary was about to happen as we read this book. Then when it ended up being a party for old Lily Laceby they thought it was so hillarious. Now whenever we read it they pretend to be scared. It is NOT a scary book. The font used for the action words make them understandable even for non readers. Lily's journey through memory lane is something my kids really enjoy pointing out and commenting about. This really is a fun book for kids and the price is very reasonable.
