What a disappointment when opening this package for what is suppose to be a brilliant book!
The book itself is in mini version - about the size of 2 credit cards. The RRP on the back is US$6.99 which equates to A$8.10!! This book is not value for money and was a huge disappointment for my 3yo son who also has The Very Hungry Catepillar and loves it.
My advice - if you want the miniture version without the interactive pages, buy this one, although the value money wise is questionable. Otherwise go to your local bookstore and purchase the boardbook for $16.95 which has large child friendly pop up pages.

Quite a nice story, especially for younger children who will enjoy making and hearing the animal sounds as you read. Nothing spectacular though, not a must read book for any of my children.

My son loves this book. He only received it as a present a few weeks ago but i could recite it by heart! this book seems to ge everywhere he goes. it is great in helping him learn his animal sounds as each page has a picture of a different animal asking the spider to do something and barking or mooing depending on the animal. my son can now turn to a page and immitate the sound that animal would make without any help from me. what a wonderful learning tool.

After receiving the MINI book I wish I had read the reviews as I am vey disappointed with the size ofthe book for the price of the item. I have looked over the page where I purchased the book and can not for the life of me find any information re information about the size of the book. As I bought this book for my 1 and 2 year old for story time it is difficult for either children to handle the book. I am very DISAPPOINTED

I wish I'd taken the time to read the reviews before I purchased this book. I didn't realise I was purchasing a miniature book. I cannot for the life of me remember that it was described as such. It is so small and won't be easily used by my 2 year old granddaughter. The pages are sticking together too. It is simply not value for money and I will be reluctant to use this company again.

This is my fifteen month old son's favourite book and my two year olds adores it too. Full of familiar creatures and predictable text, it is a classic. It has the added interest of raised illustrations. Watch as the animals in the book get smaller and smaller and in the end, the spider gets the fly. Utterly satisfying and delightful to read. If you like great children's books you;ll love this book!

Hello Everyone

This story is a new book that the children at my centre are getting to know. It is a child friendly book because of its size. We have younger children who like to handle this book and find that they carry it around like "the very hungry caterpillar".

In the children's outside play they look for spiders and when they find the spiders and their webs it becomes a learning activity. The children get flour to dust the web and get an impression of how the web is formed.

They also relate this story to "incy wincy spider". Awesome book.

My Grand-daughter liked this small book, it was easy for her to carry. She cannot read yet, but loves stories read to her and she did enjoy this at bedtime for a few nights

Beautiful story but I thought it was the larger book. So it's a little small in size, print and it's probably best to buy the bigger, softer version.

I wish i was a spider! They're so Kool! The author of this book should be proud. Proud as. Applause for you. I remember reading this book for my brother also, his first! Still in the somach. 4 stars.
