As a child care worker I am always on the look out for a good book that I know children will love, and this story is a classic. Not only do the children love the plot, you can extend on this book with animal sounds, and science lessons on floating and sinking! It is excellent and a very good buy :)
This is a great classic childrens story. It captivates the children as it is in rhyme and the story is very funny. It is a tale of a group of animal friends who decide to go for a sail on the boat. For children it has humour, suspense and the opportunity for interraction.
When asked 'Who sank the boat?' my two year old always answers 'me'. He never tires of listening to this story. It is great because he can also join in with the story and he thinks that he is reading. I love the rhyming text and the very predictable ending. (Well, it's predictable when you have read it 50 times!!)
I remember this book being read to me by my primary school teacher...and more recently my lecturer read this book to us in our population health class! Its a classic kids story. Teaches kids that things happen not only because of one thing… but an accumulation of things, well at least they may understand this when they get a bit older, but as a young child its just a funny story.
A sweet tale with that much loved repetition that helps children learn to read, and the puzzling proposition at the end that the child must know who sunk the boat ... a great read, one of our family favourites.
A delightful book great for children to help develope a love of reading and has a lovely repetition to it that will have your child joining in from the first read and fill them with excitment waiting to see who sank the boat. delightfully illustrated, perfect for the young child
