The Thieves of Ostia is about a Roman girl, Flavia Gemina, and how she finds out who's been killing dogs around her neighbourhood. Along the way she meets three other children: Jonathan, Nubia and Lupus who help her solve the mystery. This book is very detailed in its account of the Roman world, and the mystery is a classic whodunnit for children. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Dogs are being killed for no real reason and there heads are hacked off and disappear. Flavia and her friends plan on finding out who is responisble before there dogs become victums. Does the person hate dogs or is there somthing else!
This is the best series and the latest ones are just as good I can't wait till more are written!
