“Where history ends, storytelling begins” write the authors, and this novel wonderfully weaves imaginative storytelling with the historical facts of Queen Mary’s life first in France and later in Scotland. Nicola, the queen’s “fool”, is an intelligent, insightful, and ever loyal companion. Her story is a great read for young adults who like historical fiction.
