I compeletely agree with three stars above. Both my boyfriend and I found her descriptions excruciatingly repetetive, I think the book would have been half the length if she would have just left out a few of the descriptions that become more than obvious after a while.
But, none-the-less, I still took in every last drop; leaving me as a three star critic as well.
The pages almost turned themselves! Great easy to read book. As a mum I find it hard to make time to read and usually take a long time to finish a book. Couldn't put this down though and finished it within 3 days. Will appeal to teens and adults - just don't allow yourself to be put off by the vampire theme.
I think I might be the only person on the planet not totally enamoured of Bella and Edward's romance. By the end, Bella's lack of self-esteem was just driving me mad. I thought if I had to read one more time how absolutley beautiful and perfect Edward looked, I would scream. Is the moral of the story to go for the good-looking guy? Plus Bella isn't all that nice as a daughter and her manipulation of Jacob to get the story of the Cullens was pretty low. Her total self-absorption also really made me want to slap her. So why three stars rather than one? I think the writer writes very elegantly and has some original turns of phrases that were original in describing the same old same old.
Fantastic book, aimed at teenagers but in my mid 20's I still really enjoyed it. One of those books that makes you want to keep reading long after you should be asleep. Been compared to the Harry Potter novels but to me seems more grown up.
I was a bit sceptical about reading this book at first because I'm not a huge fan of vampire stories but I had read others reviews and thought why not????? I was pleasantly surprised to discover that THIS BOOK IS FANTASTIC!! It's easy to read and I could hardly put it down (this actually doesn't happen to me very often with books I read). You will fall in love with Edward and won't be able to stop turning the pages to see what will happen between the two main characters next. It is far fetched (a teenage vampire love story) but it is definitely worth every minute of reading! I have since bought the next 3 booksin this series and am currently reading the third!!!
This was a fantastic read. As is the whole series. If you are interested in reading something that is a little different and not the normal vampire story then you really should read this! Whether you are young or old!
It is a breeze to read, and very addictive with teenage and adult angst, romance, daily woes and happiness, real life struggles and also mysterious mythical struggles, this book and series will keep you enthralled to the end.
