As a kindergarten teacher, my class love this book. As a mother, my boys love this book. As an adult, I love this book. I sometimes find myself in my boys bedroom, reading and having a giggle to myself. What a clever mouse to be able to trick the gruffalo!!

One of the best picture books that involves strange creatures since the likes of the Wild things. Children read this one over and over again, both boys and girls. I got little friends that are 3 and 5, girl and boy, and to have alook at the state of this single book compared to all the rest is amazing, as they have read this book so many times that it is in such bad condition now, which is what should happen to all good books. ANd its not because they dont take much care, its because this book is a perfect tool for whether the child just looks at the pictures or has the classic ryme told to them. beutiful. a one hit wonder i must add

This book has all the important reading skills in it: repetition, rhyme, rythem. My 2 year old loves it and it shows that not all monsters are scary. A great boy read.

An ingenious story about a clever mouse who uses his quick wit to avoid being everyone in the wood's dinner. Brilliantly written with gorgeous illustrations, the entire stiry rhymes. My little boy loved this from 2 years on and can recite it off by heart he wanted to read it that much. Highly recommended. I always buy this as a gift for every child I know who doesn't have it.
