In this famous series, magical die-cutting draws the reader from page to colorful page. Soon, the story can be read -- or more probably sung -- by heart.
I love this story, a classic sing along and this book and all its pictures illustrate the song perfectly. I have found as a teacher that it captures the attention of the children I work with in great depth. It can be read aloud by yourself, or if you have the song on cd, you can turn the pages as the song goes along.
I loved this story when I was small, and learnt the whole thing as a rhyme in school. My son and I really enjoy reading this together. However, my cousin found it very frightening, the mere thought of this lady having all those animals inside her frightened him so much they had to remove the book out of the house, so perhaps not for the more sensitive children.
This is a great book, i loved it as a child and children today still love it. A wonderful non-sense story to capture the imagination of children of all ages!
Classic story. As with most stories read to us as kids, it has a fairly twisted/dark side to it, but I never seemed to take the story literally. I'm sure such a story/rhyme would be considered very un-politically correct by todays terms, but then we wouldn't have had ANY stories to enjoy as kids had we been too PC back then, would we? Great book.
