A lovely, gentle reader, suitable for about 7-9 year olds, depending on ability. The story is about the first mobile library in the US and a young farmgirl, Clara, who longs to read. The story is repetitive, to enhance the learning experience, but not overly so. The illustrations are gentle and do not overwhelm the story. A good, old-fashioned reader, without a lot of the modern tripe that has snuck into readers.
