"In a brief statement on Friday night, Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge confirmed that He Who Must Not Be Named has returned to this country and is once more active. "It is with great regret that I must confirm that the wizard styling himself Lord - well, you know who I mean - is alive and among us again," said Fudge." These dramatic words appeared in the final pages of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". In the midst of this battle of good and evil, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" takes up the story of Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with Voldemort's power and followers increasing day-by-day.
Reviews
'Fast, dark, exciting and tightly plotted.' Daily Mail 'Taut, witty, effortlessly engaging, and very, very nasty. How we yearn for more' TLS 'Everything in the series starts to come to fruition This ingenius setting up is intriguing for aficionados who have been hungry to discover what happens next.' Sunday Times 'A Gripping story with its clues trailed through the text, chills, spills and some excellent, new comic characters. there is a measure of sadness too one of the elements of Rowling's writing that I think entitles her to a seat in the pantheon.' Julian Fellowes, Sunday Telegraph

A fantastic and captivating conclusion to J.K Rowling’s hugely popular series. Despite a somewhat directionless, tedious period in the middle of the novel, the dramatic and emotive conclusion means this hugely anticipated and greatly speculated about book does not disappoint. As with the other books, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince promises an increasingly dark and mature read, which draws together the strands and resolves the many questions the earlier books created with much satisfaction.
the greatest thing about the harry potter books is that they celebrate people who are willing to sacrifice them selves in order to achieve 'the greater good', this sixth book is no exception. with out revealing too much, the scene where dumble dore and harry travel to the cave and what dumble dore does is heartbreaking
This is one of the best books in the Harry Potter series, he is in his 6th year at hogwarts and the plot thickens! Harry is finding out more about Voldemort's past and the prophecy and what he must do to finally finish him off.You have to read this book if you have read any of the others, you shouldnt need to read this review to decide! The end is sad and it leaves you dying for the 7th book to come out. luckily it comes out in a week.
ths is the latest harry potter book, and in my opinion is by far the best! it tells of so many gripping events, as harry finds a potions book that makes him excel at it, much to hermiones disgust. the new potions teacher also proves to be an important character, as snape has moved to his much coveted positon of DADA teacher.a must read!!!
who is the new teacher at hogwarts named slughorn and what precious memories does he have that dumbledore could want? who is secretly betraying dumbledore and harry? (you will never suspect) and who is the unfortunate second key character that joanne kathleen rowling has decided to kill off? read this book to find out
harry potter and the half blood prince is fantastically written and shows class and intelligence. its sad because Dumbledore dies so leaving harry in more danger than he was when he was young. the ending is very emotional and safisticated. i can't wait to read the next book when j.k rowling decides that it is finished and ready for the world to read and experience.
