This is a great story that suits a wide age range of children. the story is cleaverly written any rymes throughout the hole story. It is very catchy and repetitive which children love as they can anticipate what comes next and join in with the story. The pictures are great and children are drawn to the witch.
I love this book too. Full of fun rhymes and excellent illustrations. I highly recommend this book for all ages. My just turned 3 yr old wants it over and over. I'm looking forward to my delivery of the Gruffalo I've just ordered now.
A really funny book with excellent rhymes and the kind of gentle repitition that has kids joining in in no time. The last page reads almost like the punchline of a joke - its brilliant. Axel Scheffler's illustrations compliment a fantastic story beautifully; another great Donaldson/Scheffler combination (in fact of all of them I'd pick this as the best).
Fantastic Book! My 3yr old & I love the pictures & the rhyming story lets our imagination fly with the witch & friends. This writer is definately a favourite in the bookcase.
Lots of fun rhymes and gorgeous illustrations, much like all of these collaborations. Also a little lesson for the listener without being preachy. Great.
A fantastic book that rhymes and involves the animals in the story coming together to save the witch from a dragon. Rhyming is an important part of Phonemic awareness, but please don't confuse phonemic awareness with phonics, they are completing different concepts. Overall all it is a fun book.
I love this book. The rhyming story is so easy to read to my children and the pictures are fantastic. It is quite a long story, but keeps my boys interested the whole way through. My boys are 2 and 7 and both love listening to this story.
