This is an interesting fantasy novel about Gemma and her adventures with her three best friends, Felicity, Pippa and Ann at Spence Academy. After her mother dies of a sucide attack, seen in a vision by Gemma, the young 16 year old is shipped off to London to become a "proper woman". There she finds out the horrible facts behind these queer visions and finds out everything is not as perfect as it seems! This is a must read and so is the sequal!

Now I love a lot of differen type of books and I never actually have a personal favourite book, but I must say that this book would be in my top four favourite books. This book has it all mystery, romance, suspence, magic and much more! Libba Bray writes in such a way that you almost recognise the story like a dream half forgotten, but you never really know what's going to happen next. Every one should read this book at least once.
