Alanna has fought shaman, bested wraiths and vanquished magi, but nothing could prepare her for this. Accompanied by the legendary Shang Dragon, Alanna must attempt the impossible. Recover the fabled Dominion jewel. And she must work fast. Tortall is in terrible danger. Roger of Conte is back, and more powerful than ever.
This is the fourth book in one of the best series ever, by the best author ever. I can not say enough to recommend not only this book, but anything by Tammy. I would recommend her in general to 11 – 14 year olds and mainly girls because female heroines are her specialty. She isn’t just limited to that age group though, I am 21 and I can still pick up one of her books and be totally sucked into the worlds and adventures she creates.
Another great thing about her is that any book she writes it is always set in one of two worlds. One is Tortall (Song of the Lioness is set here) and the other is Winding Circle. So you get to see how past main characters are going. This is the order I recommend these books be read. You don’t have to read them in this order if you don’t want to, each series can stand alone. But if you read them in this order you get the behind stories of why certain things happen.

A great ending to a great series, this book sees the lioness making her final decision about who she is to spend her life with - will it be George, the daring and delightful thief, or Jon, the heir to the throne and then king? You'll have to read this one through to find out what happens!
Number four in the 'Song of the Lioness' quartet, and a very enjoyable conclusion to the series. The characters have all grown from who they were in the first book, and face difficult decisions in the end. Alanna has her final showdown with Roger, and must make her decision with regards to her love. Who will she choose? George, Jon, or someone else entirely?
A brilliant conclusion to a stunning quartet. The ending especially - Alanna's final decision - I enjoyed. I loved Thayet and Buri, enjoyed the black and white potrayal of good and evil, and was thrilled by the final, dramatic battle scene. Though I was saddened by some of the losses (I won't say anymore for those who haven't read), I really did love this book. Brilliant.
Alana is running towards yet another new adventure. However, the question begs to be asked- is she really just running from the past? Syhe has everything that she ever wanted. Now a fully-fledged Knight, member of the Bloody Hawk Bazhir tribe, Kings Champion- to king Jonathon, no less- she has ended the war between Tortal and the Bazhir and had more adventure than can be named.
She has also killed Duke Roger, her evil arch-enemy. Something surrounded by contraversy, this is something that Alana still feels that she is not sure about. And what about King Jonathon and the King of the Theives, George? Which if either does she love and how can she possibly make them both happy?
She's come so far since Alanna: The First Adventure! Alanna is now the legendary Lioness of Tortall, female knight and hero. In her final book her quest is to recover the Dominion Jewel for Tortall, but it's easier said than done!
Again, I was so impressed with Pierce's characters in this book. A few new faces as well as familiar ones, not to mention some explored relationships and an explosive ending that... well... just read it!
The final book in the Song of the lioness quartet - but is it the end of Alanna?
This question is on everyones lips when she is put to her biggest adventure yet - in search of the magical jewl that can save the kingdom, and put herself in the kings good books!
Somewhere along the way she hears bad news from home, and realises that this adventure is only beginning, especially when a certain man has come back from a place he certainally shouldn't have!
Alanna must have all her witts about her in this last adventure, will she survive? Read it and find out!
I had to also read other books for the Summer Reading during my own time, and I borrowed this book from the library. I'm so glad that I started off by picking up the first book of the Song of the Lioness quartet (Alanna: The First Adventure). After I read the first book, I was hooked and read all the other 3 books in the quartet in 2 days. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!! You won't regret reading this. But please read the first book, Alanna: The First Adventure, because this book that I'm reviewing is the 4th book in the quartet. If you read this or any of the other books besides the 1st book first, then you won't understand them. But please just give it a try and buy/borrow this book.
the final book in the allanna series be prepared for some serious soul searching, as allanna faces her biggest obsticles, includeing love loyalty, heart break and the biggest decision of her life, who will she choose the king jonathan who has been her best friend from the beginning, or the rogue george who declared his love not for the knight but for allanna herself. who would you choose?
this is the final book in the alannah series, and possibly th most boring as well. by this time in the series, i am wearin thin of the battle and war descriptions, and want more character development and plot. qute interesting watching how this affects her love life and such though. an interesting at times read for all.
